Birribee is an Aboriginal Community Controlled housing provider supporting Aboriginal people across New South Wales to access safe, secure and culturally appropriate housing.

Our name, Birribee, comes from the Wiradjuri word for the Grey Box Gum tree — a strong and versatile tree used for shelter, tools and everyday living. Like the tree, Birribee is grounded in Country, community and self-determination.

At Birribee, we take a holistic approach to tenant support, property management, and homelessness. We believe in empowering individuals, building strong communities, and creating a better future for all.

Repairs and maintenance

Our experienced team handles all aspects of property management, from responsive to planned maintenance.

Tenancy responsibilities

We walk with our tenants to ensure they are aware of their tenancy obligations and able to have a positive tenancy experience.

We provide comprehensive support services to tenants, ensuring their needs are met and their rights are protected.

Who we are

Birribee is wholly owned by the NSW Aboriginal Land Council and works across metropolitan and regional New South Wales, including Western Sydney, Wagga Wagga, Bathurst, Orange, Forster, Moree and surrounding communities.

We exist to improve housing outcomes for Aboriginal people — not just by increasing the number of homes, but by strengthening the way housing services are delivered, governed and supported.

Our team works closely with tenants, community and partners to deliver housing that is practical, respectful and responsive to local needs.
