Birribee achieves NRSCH Tier 1

Birribee secured registration under the National Regulatory Scheme for Community Housing (NRSCH) in February 2020. Then categorised as a Tier 2 provider, it focused on providing quality tenancy and asset management services. With now over 500 properties under management, a pipeline of more properties coming and additional housing products such as Transitional housing.

Birribee has been re-categorised by NSW Registrar of Community Housing as being a Tier 1 Community Housing Provider.

Birribee now joins ACHL as the only Aboriginal Tier 1 providers on NRSCH – Victoria does not participate in NRSCH. In total there are nationally 55 Aboriginal Community Housing Providers registered with NRSCH and this achievement by Birribee shows that it is invested into growing a sustainable service that will be there to walk alongside and support communities for many years to come.

To celebrate this achievement Birribee was joined by Housing and Homelessness Minister Rose Jackson, Clare McHugh CEO of NSWALC, Famey Williams CEO of NSW Aboriginal Housing Office, tenants, staff, board, and partner agencies.
