Apply for Housing
How to apply for social housing:
Birribee manages properties on behalf of the NSW Government - the NSW Aboriginal Housing Office and also Homes NSW. These properties are known as social housing and have both eligibility and allocation requirements that are prescribed to Birribee to follow.
All applications for housing assistance must be submitted through Housing Pathways. Applications can be completed in person at your local Homes NSW office or online via the following link : Housing Pathways Online Application Form.
Birribee also manages properties on behalf of Local Aboriginal Land Councils. Eligibility for these properties are subject to rules created by the Local Aboriginal Land Council. In this instance, please contact Birribee and enquire about eligibility, application and waitlists for partner Local Aboriginal Land Councils.

Social Housing Eligibility:
To be eligible for social housing assistance through Birribee Housing, applicants must generally meet the eligibility requirements for Aboriginal housing assistance. This includes confirming identity and Aboriginality, residing in New South Wales, meeting household income eligibility limits, and not owning property or assets that could reasonably resolve the housing need. Applicants must also be able to sustain a tenancy independently or with appropriate support in place and, where applicable, have arrangements in place to address any previous debts with a social housing provider.
In some circumstances, a person may not be eligible for housing assistance where there is a history of serious offences or where there are concerns that the tenancy may present an unacceptable risk to others or result in ongoing antisocial behaviour.
Further information on eligibility requirements can be found here: Housing Pathways Eligibility Information.
